Honest Weight Food Co-op is a consumer cooperative, which means that it is owned by the people who shop here. Consumer owners and member-owners exercise their ownership by investing in co-op ownership interests, patronizing the store, and electing a board of directors to hire, guide, and evaluate the management who run day-to-day operations.

We are looking for Member-Owners to commit to regular Time Investment Opportunities. Please review these urgently needed shifts and email the designated department with your availability.

Empire State Plaza (Food Court)
            Seeking Member Owners with customer service experience for fixed weekly commitments at the Empire State Plaza Cafe. Current vacancies are Monday, Thursday, Friday (10 AM to 1 PM OR 11 AM to 2 PM). This consistency helps us make the best use of our limited workspace and maintain smooth operations.

Bakery
            Seeking Member Owners to work shifts on Thursdays from 6 AM to 9 AM. This shift helps the opening baker clean and restock the bakery case, package items for sale, tray up items and set the baker up for the next day.

Food Service
            Seeking Member Owners with customer service experience for fixed weekly commitments, to help customers discover new faves by offering samples of featured items.

Meat Department
Provide customer service and wrap meat & fish. Experience Preferred! There is major need for evening shifts, 4 TO 7 PM OR 5 TO 8 PM! There are openings for every day of the week.

Plants Department
Those investing time in the Plants Department need to be able to lift heavy objects and stand for their full shift, no matter the weather. This is a fast-paced, labor intensive, on-your-feet position. Seeking Member Owners who are detail-oriented, great at following directions and have an interest in plants. Please keep in mind that there is no actual gardening done by the Plants Department; we stock the plants, soils, etc. for our customers’ gardens!
