Member-Owner Opportunities

Attention Member-Owners- Come on in and help out!

Get in on our New Member-Owner (MO) Time Investing incentive! For new owners and existing owners who have never invested time at HWFC or who have not invested time since before October 2021: Let us gift you 3 bonus hours for coming in and investing a shift (or more!) of time in October, November and December. Extra MO hours roll over in MO's banks, so doing extra helps both you and the Co-op! One shift per month gives the benefit of 8% on all your shopping and one shift per week gives 24% on those shopping trips. Don't miss out on this bonus incentive to get the full benefit of your membership at HWFC!

Honest Weight relies on Member-Owners to help run our store in a variety of ways, and only people who have purchased an ownership at HWFC are eligible to invest time as Owners and become Member-Owners. Here is a list of current needs, sorted by department. Please keep in mind your discount commitment needs when inquiring about assignments.

Member-Owner Testimonials-  From a long-time member-owner: "I have been investing time as a Member-Owner in the deli department for about 5 months, and I love investing there.  The Staff and Member-Owners in the deli department have been welcoming, supportive, and patient while they teach me how to be productive for HWFC.  I would encourage any Member-Owner who enjoys cooking and wants to learn what it's like to cook in a commercial kitchen to join us in the deli department."

Do you love where you invest time? Leave a few words here to let us know!

Are you an Eco-Commuter? Member-Owners who travel to their time-investment shifts using a method of travel other than a personal vehicle are eligible to receive M-O time under our Eco-Commuter program. Contact Yevette at memberservices@honestweight.coop to inquire about details.

Produce Immediate needs in Produce
  • Monthly and weekly help with stocking, prep, and cleaning. Many days and times available.
  • Weekly or monthly member-owners for help with shelf tags and signs. A good fit is a self-directed and computer savvy Member-Owner who can do their shift on their feet in the aisles doing price checking.
  • Weekly or bi-weekly member-owners who can come in and clean the produce cases. This spot has been filled by MOs historically and is a great way to help and get the hours during less busy shopping times. 5-8 am: early morning stockers and receivers are here at that time of morning but no shoppers to work around.
  • Special Opportunity- Produce is also looking for someone to help bring the produce of a small local hydroponic lettuce farm to the Coop weekly. This vendor is no longer able to do deliveries and it’s a real loss to both us and them. It’s not a huge delivery, a standard sedan should be able to handle the 6-8 cases of lettuce per week. Someone who drives through the Berlin, NY area to get to Albany could fit this spot easily. MO time offered for the drive time, of course.
